About pianist Sylvia Marie Muehling

Hailed by the New York Times as a “pianist of intelligence and talent,” Sylvia Marie Muehling is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Early Childhood Music. She has taught piano to Kalamazoo (Michigan) area students for 35 years. She is now in her mid-80s.

Pianist Sylvia is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, holds an M.M. Degree from The Juilliard School, and has performed with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, besides giving numerous solo and ensemble recitals. She continues to perform whenever possible.

Sylvia was very active professionally. She belonged to the Kalamazoo and Michigan affiliates of the Music Teachers National Association.
